About the Byron Area Chamber of Commerce
The Byron Area Chamber of Commerce
is a community-based organization that supports progress and growth
in the areas of commerce, industry, agriculture, civics, economics,
education, and culture in the City of Byron and the surrounding
areas.
The Chamber was established in 1958 by concerned business people
in the community who saw a need for an organization to deal with
emerging challenges in the area, while also supporting the excellent
traditions of the community. Through the years, the Chamber has
been a strong voice for area businesses and has provided many services
to its members and to the Byron area community.
Opportunities to serve the area have developed and expanded, and
the Byron Area Chamber of Commerce continues to be a viable and
valuable business organization today.
Chamber board members serve three-year terms and are elected by
the membership-at-large at the Chamber's Annual Dinner in April.
Board members represent a cross-section of Byron area businesses
and share a common interest in making Byron and the surrounding
area a better place to live, work, and play.
The board meets the second Wednesday of each month. Chamber members
are welcome to contact the President or Executive Director to suggest
agenda items.
The Chamber hosts luncheon meetings at various locations on the
1st Tuesday of each month. The program, which begins at noon, includes
a featured speaker and Chamber and community announcements. This
informal lunch meeting provides attendees with an excellent opportunity
to network with other Chamber members.
The Byron Chamber offers members a wide range of opportunities
to promote their business. Benefits are designed to assist in networking
your business, making new contacts, increasing public exposure,
saving money, and making a positive contribution to the community.
The Chamber is pleased to serve a current membership of over 165
local businesses and organizations.
Any business, school, organization, or professional businessperson
located in or doing business in the Byron area is eligible to be
a member of the Byron Area Chamber of Commerce. As the area grows,
the Chamber will benefit members through its efforts to increase
economic, financial, and educational excellence. Being part of the
Chamber increases your effectiveness in the community through the
Chamber's abilities to work as your business advocate, your information
center, and your networking organization. When you hire the Chamber,
you get the services of its staff and volunteers, as well as the
state and national organizations to which the Chamber belongs. |
